I am just letting you know how my stay at tsuribashi-so went.

tsuribashi_onsen.jpgI am just letting you know how my stay at tsuribashi-so went. I was very impressed with the Ryokan and thought that all the staff were very polite and helpful. The man who greeted me at the car park was very friendly and tried very hard in speaking English and did a good job as well.

The continous waving on leaving will never be forgotten.

tsuribashi_taki.jpgThe staff were so freindly and helpful! The setting and location for the Kawazu 7 waterfalls was perfect! The meat option for dinner was FANTASTIC. A great escape from the traditional Japanese dinner. The continous waving on leaving will never be forgotten. A very memorable stay! :)

It is a great place to stay.

It is a great place to stay. You can enjoy a gorgeous view from the
top-level tubs just contemplating the woods and mountains in front of you..
Romantic and well organised. Very Japanese.

The service was great--much better than anywhere else I've stayed in Japan.

This hotel (yes, hotel, not hostel/guest house) was amazing. The service was great--much better than anywhere else I've stayed in Japan (which is saying a lot). The room was very clean and comfortable, with a nice view. The surrounding area was incredibly beautiful, and very interesting. I'd highly recommend doing the hike to see the seven waterfalls. Take the bus to the one at the top of the hill and then hike down. If you don't have the time to do that (about two hours or so), just check out the two downhill from the hotel--they're the best. Lots of interesting things within the hotel property, especially the scary bridge. The spas at Tsuribashi-so were nice, especially the rooftop spa--open-air, surrounded by lush green mountains, and the water was just the right temperature. Good variety of spas. We didn't have enough time to go to all of them. We couldn't believe how cheap the room was. Only one thing: the dinner was a little small for the price. If you're on a budget, go to the convenience store near the station and bring some snacks with you, since there aren't many places open after 5:00 in the area. The included breakfast was really good. The staff were very helpful, and shuttled us all over the place for no extra charge. One warning: the telephone number on the website doesn't work, at least if you're calling from a cell phone. Ask the woman at the tourist information center near the station for an updated number. Overall, highly recommend!

It is a beautiful hotel surrounded by the hills and a waterfall runs very close to it.

tsuribashi_fall.jpgThe location of this is stunning. Its a good 30mins drive from the train station, but there is a shuttle bus provided from the hotel staff. It is a beautiful hotel surrounded by the hills and a waterfall runs very close to it. The hotel staff drove us up to the top of the waterfalls then you can take a short hike along the waterfalls to return to the hotel. There are 7 onsen, all very clean and very relaxing, especially the open air one on the 5th floor which has amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Excellent, definitely recommend!

The meals were outstanding and absolutely reasonable.

Tsuribashi-so was just great. And YES, they take credit cards. And yes, they will pick you up at the station. The walk through the bamboo/cedar forest and the 7 waterfalls of Kawazu was spectacular. The meals were outstanding and absolutely reasonable. One night we were served 6 kinds of the freshest fish and a lobster among other dishes! oishi! And all for 1500 yen / person. How is this possible? Our room looked at a lush wall of mountain/forest green. They also grow their own tea and wasabi. Someone even went to the trouble to hand -write out the house rules for us in English. This ryokan is a great value. Highly recommended.
