Perfect location. Authentic hotel and township. Loved walking the streets. People were very helpful and nice. Private dinner was fantastic. Onsens were beautiful and enjoyed the kimono. Monkey park was extraordinary. Staff were lovely, pleasant, accommodating and attentive. I will come again.

What an utterly charming place. We felt like we had a true, traditional Japanese experience. Our room was very authentic and comfortable and the staff were so kind, helpful and attentive. Shibu onsen is a great place to visit. Make sure to visit the monkey park to see the delightful macaques bathing in the hot springs.

The Shibu Hotel is an amazing place to visit. After spending 2 months in Tokyo it is truly a place to recover. I will recommend the Shibu Hotel to all of my friends. For us wearing the traditional clothing while walking around the onsen was a highlight. Being picked up from the train was great and made us feel like we were going to have a great time from the get go. Thank you for recommending to us the place to eat, the tofu ramen was AMAZING!! We cannot wait to see the monkeys today.Thank you for all of your hospitality. We LOVED our night here.

Shibu Hotel is a cozy little hotel. The staff were very friendly and will do their utmost to please. We were certainly very well looked after. Takako and Kazuyoshi, you were most patient with us being non-Japanese speaking guests. Sometimes we managed to communicate and you would go out of your way to accomodate our requests. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant one.

とても楽しかったです。We had a fantastic at Shibu Onsen and at Shibu Hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly and made our stay very special. Breakfast was the best we have had anywhere! The onsen at the hotel were also wonderful! We wish we could stay for longer will be recommending Shibu Hotel to all our friends!

The character and the atmosphere of Shibu Hotel gracious and special. The staff picked us up from the station and greeted warmly at arrival. They went out of their way to help us do what we wanted (given time limits) and visit the Jigokudani monkey park. It was quiet time of year so few restaurants were open but we recommend the Sushi place next door. Our room was cozy and good size. I wished we could be here a week instead of only one night!

We think this hotel is beautiful. Great location. Good onsen. Staff were very friendly. The service were very good. Yamada-san helped us with travel information. If we could com back to Shibu onsen, we will definitely stay here.

There are no words to describe how we both felt while staying at the hotel. Shibu Onsen has a very nice "old Japan" feel and Shibu Hotel has the right feel to it. The rooms are nice and the food is EXCELLENT!! We have never tasted such beautiful and tasty food before. Staff is excellent. Everything is excellent. If given an another opportunity, we will come back to stay! 本当に楽しかったです。

The gardens are very beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is very safe, clean and comfortable. The manager collected us from the station and showed us some places of interest. We liked the snow monkeys and the walk through the forest. The staff were wonderful and helped explain the breakfast foods, showed us restaurants and things to visit and do. We enjoyed the old town and was very happy to see traditional culture. It was not crowded and over-run with lots of tourists. We felt special to be in a small town with lots of locals using the onsen(hot springs). We did enjoy the private onsen. Very relaxing after lots of walking. The town would be nice to visit in winter but autumn was also pretty.

Great atmosphere and location. Lovely Japanese style rooms e.g. futons, green tea. Yes, would recommend very much. Felt very safe in the hotel. Easy to find and we loved the monkey park, onsen and food! Extremely helpful staff. Number one!

Staff were very welcoming and so friendly, even though we can hardly speak any Japanese. Nothing was too much trouble. Onsen was great- very relaxing and well-kept. The view from our room was beautiful and the sound of the waterful was very peaceful and relaxing. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious and we really enjoyed eating authentic Japanese meals.

Lovely place to stay for feel of traditional Japan with convenience of a modern hotel. Great location, close to Shibu onsen and snow monkleys- much more character than Yudanaka. Yamada family could not be more welcoming and friendly. Would definitely come back/recommend.

We have had such a wonderful stay at your hotel. It is perfectly situated on the beautiful onsen street and within walking distance to Yudanaka. Also close to the snow monkeys. The staff are so friendly, very helpful and go out of their way to assist you with your enquires. We were picked up at the railway station and taken back again.Would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Shibu Hotel was a memorable experience! Friendly attentive staff ensured our stay was comfortable. The pick-up service from the station and provided transportation to jigokudani snow monkeys was prompt and reliable. Our included breakfast was a very pleasant experience.

Shibu Onsen Hotel is delightful. The moment you are met from the train station and you are welcomed at the front door of the hotel you know you are in for a treat. The atmosphere is calming, the staff work hard to make you feel relaxed- take tea after the private onsen, in the old school room at the front and water nightfall. The Japanese garden at the front is lit up　and the waterfall in the background is so picturesque, a photograph doesn’t do it credit. We felt safe here, our belongings locked in the in room safe gives added security when traveling overseas. Using the public onsens also very safe. Monkey Park is best attraction in local area.

A very traditional and spacious hotel. As it is a small scale family owned business, staffs were very friendly and attentive to your needs. Will definitely recommend to my family and friends! And the onsen inside the hotel was great too, felt recharged after it.
