It's very good location to get around.

Great father and son service, can't find any faults at all with the hotel other than a very comfortable stay. Our first room was smaller and we had to walk out to the toilet but the owners were kind enough to give us an upgrade to a bigger room with inroom toilet on the 2nd day. Just a few mins walk from Yudanaka station so it's very good location to get around.

This place is AWESOME!!

This place is AWESOME!! Literally 2 mins walk from Yudanaka station on flat ground. There are 3 onsens here which also serve as the showers. This was perfect as me, wife and baby got to enjoy a private onsen and showers for ourselves. Tatami style rooms are great as we got to experience traditional Japanese accommodation in late autumn so it snowed and it was magical. Great staff will drive you to snow monkey park but you have to bus back. Fantastic Japanese restaurant opposite post office!

The onsen was a feature, the Japanese breakfast a treat an a delicious apple sent us on our way with good memories. The Ryokan is a bit dated and some of the interior walls needed minor repair/painting. I have no reservations about recommending Yudanaka Seifu-so as a wonderful place to visit!

A lovely ryokan.

A lovely ryokan. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and although the staff hardly speak any english, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Japanese breakfast was served in our own separate room, which was beautifully presented and very tasty. We wish we had the keisekei dinners there. We tried 3 out of the 4 onsen, some are male or female only, but they swap the times round so you can try different ones. Their driver took us up to the snow monkey park for free. Highly recommended.

For those seeking an authentic traditional Japanese room and experience this place is great. Prepare for some communication difficulties if you want to do more than just check in at the hotel as the managers don't speak a whole lot of English (though thankfully, I knew enough Japanese to get by) but nonetheless they were warm, friendly and helpful and all the facilities and rooms were top notch, including the onsen bath. Very close to the station so not diffcult to find or access. Book now!

A volunteer from Yudanaka told me the way to Seifu-so, so it was very easy for me to find. Places I visited were Snow monkey park, Shiga Kogen, Brewery, Shibu Onsen, Kannon statue of world peace, temples, sushi bar near the slopes, tea house near the station and Japanese restaurants. The highlight of my trip to Japan. Arigato!

This Ryokan is amazing, the staff went way out of their way to help make us feel welcome, the Onsens are great, the kimono's a nice touch, and the whole place was kitted out traditional Japanese style. There are a few good restaurants close by, but sadly Yudanaka didn't have much more to offer. Close to the mountains for trekking (or skiing in the winter). An excellent place to spend a relaxing few days. I highly reccomend staying here. The highlight of my trip to Japan. Arigato!

There was nothing this ryokan lacked! It was the most beautiful I have stayed in with the best value! It had a charming atmosphere and the two main baths were absolutely gorgeous! The staff was so kind and brought us steamed sweet potatoes on our first evening and sent us home with Nagano apples and a little omiyage! The Ryokan is located about 50 yards from the Station. - The owners go an extra mile for their customers: You want a taxi - they drive you You forget an umbrella - they have spare ones You want a pumpkin at the farmers fair - they prepare it for you for dinner - The people in town are friendly to foreigners. Litte shoolgirls look at us with big eyes and wish us "konbanwan". We have been greeted at the station by a volunteer of the "english discusion class" We had a great time!

Very nice traditional Japanese Ryokan, with 3 baths located on the premises. One is a family bath that you can use privately without reservation - great if you are a couple (or are too scared to bath naked and make a fool of yourself!). Excellent Japanese food. Friendly staff who speak a little English and were really helpful. They even gave us a free lift to the Monkey park and a little gift on our departure. This is a traditional old fashioned onsen ryokan. The room was spacious and comfortable and the onsen was fantastic. It was a busy weekend for the ryokan and many of the other guests were smokers. The smoke spreads easily throughout the old wooden ryokan. My children loved the whole experience.

This was a wonderful, family run ryokan. It is not a party place, but was instead very peaceful and relaxing. There was private onsen that could be used by anyone at any time. The only downside was that the shower was not in the bathroom but outside with the onsen. Since we had a hot-tub every night then showered right after, this did not really pose a problem. Wonderful place! I would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone going to Yudanaka.

The owner drove us directly to the Jigokudani Monkey Park.

The proprietor's friendliness and hospitality more than makes up for the somewhat dated facility (its heyday was likely in 1975.) The owner drove us directly to the Jigokudani Monkey Park (the main local attraction), cooked us a fantastic traditional Japanese breakfast, and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable -- even serving us sake shots in the hotel's own "onsen" hot spring!
