Great place to visit in the hills surrounding Takayama. The Ryokan is traditional style with nice rooms and an Onsen. I really enjoyed our night here and would have liked to have stayed for longer to check our the local area.

Stayed at Yamatoya Honten, Namba Dotombori, Osaka

Very nice traditional Japanese Ryokan, with 3 baths located on the premises. One is a family bath that you can use privately without reservation - great if you are a couple (or are too scared to bath naked and make a fool of yourself!). Excellent Japanese food. Friendly staff who speak a little English and were really helpful. They even gave us a free lift to the Monkey park and a little gift on our departure. Very close to Yudanaka Station and ideal for buses to the surrounding area.

Service is excellent. Nami was so good to us. We truly enjoyed our stay at the New Wakasa. Thank you for your special attention and support. We visited so many things and instructions provided by the staff were excellent. We got everywhere easily. Thank you. It is the ultimate Japanese experience. Everything is so clean.

Stayed at Hotel New Wakasa Nara City

Original is the word that would describe this hotel most accurately. I really felt that I spent a day like a Japanese. Fantastic! The room was traditional and comfy. Japanese PJ's were nice. Safe hotel just next to the market and very close to the castle. Very easy to find. Staff were very helpful and kind. Definitely recommended!!!:)

The staff was so sweet and accommodating. Our reservation had been messed up by a 3rd party and the staff did everything they could to get us in a room and have breakfast provided. The staff spoke excellent English. They were all amazing. The massage chairs were so nice! It was very helpful to have a chair with English directions but once you reclined in the chairs you couldn't reach the directions. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We have stayed in other Japanese ryokans and no other had such a welcoming staff so fluent in English. It was very comfortable! Thank you!

Stayed at Benten-no Yado Itsukushima, Miyajima, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Everything was fantastic! Picked us up from the train station and were very helpful the entire time. Beautiful room, wonderful food. The staff was excellent - they even drove us to the nearest food store when the restaurants were closed and we were hungry. I would recommend the Shibu Hotel to anyone. I hope I'll get to come back!
