The staff and the quality of the building makes this a great ryokan to stay in. The staff made us feel like travelers and not tourists. They have obviously been trained effectively and have stayed with the ryokan for most of their working like, this makes them function effortlessly and often invisibly(from the guests). We traveled through Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka before arriving at Ryokan Oishiya. We stayed at some fabulous places but Ryokan Oishiya was the best. The quality of the meals is amazing, so much so that I had to meet the chef to personally thank him. For what Oishiya delivers, this place is superb value. Experience of a lifetime.

We had a fantastic stay at Oishiya and enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful Japanese-style room overlooking the ocean. The staff picked us up from the JR station and a drop-off service is also available. The staff were very helpful and the private-onsens are great as you can use them with your husband/wife and they were free to use! The food was delicious and we highly recommend this hotel and the breakfast/dinner package as few restaurants are nearby.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. From the moment I stepped into the ryokan it felt very friendly and comfortable. The staff were the most helpful staff I have ever met even going so far as to pick us up from the station and take our luggage. Oishiya is easy to find as it is situated just a few hundred meters away from the sea front. The food is AMAZING! I have never eaten so much food that is that delicious and you don't have to lift a finger. I will recommend Oishiya to everyone in England.

This was a lovely hotel with great views and impeccably clean and the decor was very beautiful. I thought the location couldn't be close to the Meoto-iwa but the staff were very helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome and secure.

It does have a nice atmosphere and of course we will recommend it to others. We especially enjoyed the bath. In the room we found a safety box but we didn't use it. We felt safe in the hotel. We had to ask on the way because we were not sure if we were right or not. A sign(hyoshiki) on the way would be helpful. The sunrise in the morning of the wedded rocks were impressive. I liked it very much. Today, we will visit the Ise shrine. The staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay here very much. It would be nice to have more information in English including more about Ise shrine. The room infromation and the facilities of the room service could only be understood and read by Japanese.

The food was outstanding with the quality and variety of fresh fish and vegetables. Everything was very, very nice. The staff was nice and helpful, even bringing us towels we forgt at the onsen bathhouse. The rooms and onsen were very clean and comfortable. We found the ryokan online through a search engine. Your English-language website was very helpful but would have explained the authenticity of the place and its wonderful location next to the "Meoto-iwa" rocks.

The Oishiya is very well kept, beautiful traditional ryokan from inside. We appreciated the seaview and the "Western-style toilet"! Good service, outside spa and the good seafood. We will recommend this to our friends!
