We would recommend this hotel to our friends.

We would recommend this hotel to our friends. This hotel is friendly with a cozy family atmosphere. It would be convenient if there was a safety box in our room. Food is good. Staff are good too. In the center of all transportation. Great for ski & snowboarding. We did snowboard while we stayed there. The hotel is near the shuttle bus stop and ski lifts and even cable car. Perfect for our trip!

The evening meal and breakfast were delicious and it was lovely to try out new tastes.

The hotel is easily reached by express bus from Nagano Station. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and hospitable. The rooms were spacious even for western standards. The hot spring baths are very relaxing and refreshing. You only need a towel, all other soaps/conditioner etc. is provided. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious and it was lovely to try out new tastes. The scenery in the area is beautiful. You can hike around the hotel or take the cable car to the next ski area and walk to the top of the ski runs there for a fantastic view. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other (foreign) visitors.

We hope to be back in the next couple of years to enjoy great food, wonderful hospitality and the lovely weather.

The food varied on a daily basis and was delicious. The staff in the dining room were very accommodating. All the staff was exceptionally polite and made additional effort to communicate in English with guests. I would like to compliment Mr Sato in particular for taking care of his guests. On one occasion, I went for my first snowboarding on the second day of my
stay and ended up stranded at end of the slopes of SunValley. I was obviously lost and did not know which direction to go other than the slopes to get back to the hotel. Just then, Mr Sato drove by and he saw me. He stopped and reversed his vehicle. He seemed to have recognized me as one of his hotel guests and that I am lost. He re-packed the boxes in his vehicle to make space for me in the back seat and gave me a lift back to the hotel. Thank you so much, Mr Sato for your help. If it wasn't for you, my parents might have gone to the police to send out a search-party that evening. We hope to be back in the next couple of years to enjoy great food, wonderful hospitality and the lovely weather.

We particularly liked the fact that we could enjoy the onsen amidst the snow.

outside-c.jpgMy wife and I live in Australia and we recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel during our recent stay in Japan. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all staff for their outstanding customer service and very attentive care. The food and service both exceeded our expectations and we found our room to be very clean, comfortable and well kept. The onsen (both public and private) were very clean and very much enjoyed. We particularly liked the fact that we could enjoy the onsen amidst the snow. We also think the arrangement to use the onsen (use when available rather than having to book ahead) was fantastic and thought it was great that we did not have to pay an extra fee to enjoy this. With regards to the food we were extremely impressed with the home-cooking style of the Japanese food presented and the variety of dishes and selection. I am Japanese and appreciate the effort involved in providing the quality of this food given your location in the mountains. We would like to recommend this hotel to Japanese and non-Japanese guests of Shigakogen. Thank you again and we hope to see you again in the future.

Nice hotel in the Hasuike area, staff were excellent and very polite and friendly. Private onsens were great as was the public outdoor onsen. Good food and free internet access. Only 30 seconds from the nearest bus stop to get to from Shiga Kogen and the rest of the ski areas. Recommended!

We were fully satisfied that we've chosen this hotel and now we are planing to return there again.

shirakabaso_0419.JPGWe recommend Hotel Shirakabaso for its hospitality and great service, we spend a fantastic week there. Great thanks to Sato san and all staff, they are very kind and polite. Sato san was willing to help us on any question we had, for example how to get to the different places, what bus to choose or what's the weather in this or that area of Shigakogen, really great help! Also Hotel Shirakabaso has perfect open-air and private onsen. It's very cool to relax in it after whole day of snowboarding/skiing. The meals was very delicious, rooms were clean and comfort. By the way their equipment (snowboards and skis) also in good conditions most of them are new. I can say, we were fully satisfied that we've chosen this hotel and now we are planing to return there again. So have a nice stay at Hotel Shirakabaso too! :)

We enjoyed a relaxing hot spring bath and delicious dinners here.

shirakabaso0210.jpgWe had a joyful holiday in the Hotel Shirakabaso. The hotel in front of Hasuike Shuttle bus stop is located at the center of Shigakogen and therefore we could access to all ski areas easily. We enjoyed a relaxing hot spring bath and delicious dinners here. The room rates and ski rental are quite reasonable. Sato san and his staff are very nice, helpful and polite. In veiw of the above, I recommend that those who wish to come to ski at Shigakogen should stay at Hotel Shirakabaso.

The staff are friendly and most speak some English.

shirakabaso.jpgHotel Shikarakabaso is ideal for a ski holiday. This medium-sized hotel is very close to two ski areas, each no more than 100 metres away. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and most speak some English. The ski equipment for rent is high quality and the after-ski onsen is very pleasant and relaxing.

A very big Thank You to Sato-san and the staff.

with%20a%20staff.jpg

Hotel Shirakabaso was good, clean accommodation with very friendly staff. We enjoyed most of the food and the presentation was first class. We visited the monkeys and yudanaka town. They are highly recommended to visit. Facilities such as ski slopes and tickets are great even though the snow was not 100%. A very big Thank You to the manager Sato-san and all the staff. The onsen bath was the best I have ever taken.

I would recommend Shirakabaso for its great hospitality. Front desk safety box was very convenient and the hotel was safe. We came for skiing in Shiga Kogen. The hotel location was very easy to find from the bus stop. Staff was exceptional in helping us find places we needed to go. Thank you so much for taking the time and going out of the way to help us. We had a great time skiing and finishing the ski challenge because the staff helped us find our way around Shiga Kogen.

Took a trip to the Monkey Park

The staff is extremely helpful, speaks proficient English and run a well organized hotel. The traditional Japanese rooms are relatively spacious and comfortable. The front desk can hold your passports and valuables if you like.

We skied throughuot Shiga Kogen and took a trip to the Monkey Park down the mountain. Hasuike and the rest of Shiga Kogen are quiet mid-week and the meals can be quite costly. Overall, the Shiga Kogen area and the Hotel Shirakabaso are high marks in my book.

Onsen baths are very relaxing after a day skiing.

Very good Japanese dinner and breakfast. Lots of variety of meals. Onsen baths very relaxing after a day skiing. Room is comfortable and very spacious. Room (including food) is good value. Japanese style is a good experience. As for security, ski locer room with many lockers with keys to store boots and lockable ski racks are very useful & safe.

The hotel is in a good location - right next to bus station. Only a few minutes to ropeway (cable car) allows easy access to many different ski areas. Also good to have easy access to ski slopes at Hasuike / Sun Valley. Staff are extremely helpful, hospitable. Also friendly and efficient. We were made very welcome by all staff members. Staff were happy to cater to different needs we had. Fantastic chef!

We really enjoyed our stay.
