Hotel New Wakasa, Nara City Arichives

February 9, 2010

The traditional style rooms were very well equipped and extremely comfortable, especially the futons.

newwakasa.jpgThe New Wakasa Hotel was an excellent introduction to Japanese style living for Australian visitors. The traditional style rooms were very well equipped and extremely comfortable, especially the futons. A highlight of our stay was the meals- the Japanese food was beautifully presented on the table, each night was different and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly even helping with origami. The hotel is well located very close to all of Nara's attractions and transport. A most memorable experience - thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay in Nara and the Nara-deer are so lovely.

We really liked the roof terrace with the city views, both day and night. The Japanaese style beds are a fun change from our normal bed and they are very comfortable. The toilet was fun with all the options! We felt safe here and the hotel was easy to find and in a good location for all the things we wanted to see. The staff are very polite, helpful and attentive, happy to answer any questions we had. We really enjoyed our stay in Nara and the Nara-deer are so lovely. Free internet in the lobby was a very useful service. Thank you- we enjoyed our stay.

We felt very much at home and want to stay there again whenever we return to Nara.

It is a very good hotel, very clean and very nice staff. The public bath is wonderful. From the JR Station it's easy to go there by bus but it's quite a long distance to walk. It is a short walk to the city center and to the park with the temple. We felt very much at home and want to stay there again whenever we return to Nara.

The room was big, pleasant and very clean and comfortable.

0814wakasa.jpgWe arrived at 2pm before the check-in time. Though we cannot check-in yet, the manager was extremely helpful and friendly, giving us maps, suggesting where we could go. The room was big, pleasant and very clean and comfortable. They even provide a private spa room for an hour which was excellent! Just 2 areas for improvement, the lobby lighting is dark which is not so welcoming and the location was not that easy to find. Overall great value for money and excellent service by the staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
