Big, spacious traditional rooms and excellent service.

DSCF2602.jpgVery tasty meals, great location - right near Nara Koen. Big, spacious traditional rooms and excellent service. In particular, Nami was a delightful staff member. She spoke excellent English, and she went out of her way to help us and make us feel welcome.

All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Our stay at Hotel New Wakasa was most enjoyable. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The staff who spoke English(Nami) were very knowledgeable about the town of Nara and made good recommendations about sights to see and places to eat etc. The maps they provided were also very easy to read and helpful. The only recommendations we would have to improve the hotel would be to provide wireless in all hotel rooms.

The hotel had a charming atmosphere and made for a very pleasant stay.

newwakasa1230.jpgThe hotel had a charming atmosphere and made for a very pleasant stay. The room was very well furnished and provided everything we could need. The futons were extremely comfortable on the tatami floor and we appreciated the tea set and hot water provided. The hotel was easy to find and very close to both Nara Park and the shopping district. The staff were very helpful and pleasant - we always felt welcome which made our stay at this lovely hotel even better.

We tried the private bath. It was super!

newwakasa1130.JPGThank you for this moment. We slept on futon and tasted Japanese breakfast and dinner. If we return to Nara, we will stay at New Wakasa again! I could find the place easily. We visited the Todaiji Temple, Nara Park, Tofukuji Temple and five-story high pagoda. Staff was fabulous, helpful and attentive. They spoke English and offered a special rice for our honeymoon. I recommend this hotel. The meals were delicious but was too much for us. The breakfast was great. We tried the private bath. It was super!

The traditional style rooms were very well equipped and extremely comfortable, especially the futons.

newwakasa.jpgThe New Wakasa Hotel was an excellent introduction to Japanese style living for Australian visitors. The traditional style rooms were very well equipped and extremely comfortable, especially the futons. A highlight of our stay was the meals- the Japanese food was beautifully presented on the table, each night was different and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly even helping with origami. The hotel is well located very close to all of Nara's attractions and transport. A most memorable experience - thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay in Nara and the Nara-deer are so lovely.

We really liked the roof terrace with the city views, both day and night. The Japanaese style beds are a fun change from our normal bed and they are very comfortable. The toilet was fun with all the options! We felt safe here and the hotel was easy to find and in a good location for all the things we wanted to see. The staff are very polite, helpful and attentive, happy to answer any questions we had. We really enjoyed our stay in Nara and the Nara-deer are so lovely. Free internet in the lobby was a very useful service. Thank you- we enjoyed our stay.

We felt very much at home and want to stay there again whenever we return to Nara.

It is a very good hotel, very clean and very nice staff. The public bath is wonderful. From the JR Station it's easy to go there by bus but it's quite a long distance to walk. It is a short walk to the city center and to the park with the temple. We felt very much at home and want to stay there again whenever we return to Nara.

The room was big, pleasant and very clean and comfortable.

0814wakasa.jpgWe arrived at 2pm before the check-in time. Though we cannot check-in yet, the manager was extremely helpful and friendly, giving us maps, suggesting where we could go. The room was big, pleasant and very clean and comfortable. They even provide a private spa room for an hour which was excellent! Just 2 areas for improvement, the lobby lighting is dark which is not so welcoming and the location was not that easy to find. Overall great value for money and excellent service by the staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
