I chose a modern style room in this Ryokan instead of the traditional tatami floor mat room. I was quite impressed by the arrangement of the room. There was a sofa, a cozy bed with space to walk (unlike most of the 3 -star hotels in Japan where space was limited). The downside was that the TV was too small. The hotel also had tea ceremony service in the morning. So, when I checked into the hotel, I was offered to sit down and have a traditional green tea made by the tea master on the spot. The food was very good as well, and the portion was big and made with fine ingredients. Will come back to this Ryokan again if when I have saved a little more $$.
