Best countryside experience.

Staying at Miyama Futon and breakfast is without a doubt the highlight of our 15 days trip to Osaka & Kyoto! The Kaya Villa that we stayed in is surrounded by mountains. A river runs next to the villa. I love the tranquility, with mountain view all around and sounds of running river, crickets and birds chirping which I just found out from a local that it could well be sound of deers mating! The villa is very comfortable and well equipped. We could get all we need from a mini market about 5min drive away for sumptuous steamboat and bbq dinner, which is simply fantastic in the cold weather. We went on a wonderful 3-hr Cycling tour arranged with Yoshiko of Miyama FnB. Our guide Michael (an amazing French who speaks Japanese, English and even Mandarin!) and Akira were very friendly and attentive. They brought us on a scenic ride around the villages and shared interesting stories about the people, culture and architecture here. If you are looking for an escape from hustle bustle of city living, this is the place to come!
