The kaseiki dinners were top-notch, delicious and fresh, with an eye for detail and excellent service.

Stayed here 2 nights in a traditional Japanese room. The staff is extremely nice, showing us the public bath, dining room, our room and when inside the room even showing us the information book page per page (now that’s a first!). Upon recommendation from my friends, I also booked the kaseiki dinner (2 evenings) and 2 breakfasts were included. The kaseiki dinners were top-notch, delicious and fresh, with an eye for detail and excellent service. I also liked that the dinners and breakfasts were each time different for us to taste. Our room was spacious, with good matrasses to sleep on and especially the pillow was very supportive for the neck (I need extra neck support so this was a pleasant surprise) and the warm blanket to make it hard to leave the bed in the morning. In the basement of this ryokan, there’s a clean public bath where you soak in 41 degrees water and let all the stress flow away. There’s also a tea ceremony offered every day between 09h and 11h, beautiful to watch! I highly recommend this ryokan and next time in Kyoto I will definitely return!
