I was booked in a Traditional Japanese room and really enjoyed the change of pace.

Just left Shibu Hotel and must say that the owners of this hotel are the most wonderfully welcoming hosts you can imagine. I was traveling alone, just a quick trip to see the snow monkeys and made a last minute reservation. From the moment that I walked into the front door and saw the welcome sign with my name (the only non-Japanese name), I knew this would be a special visit.
I was booked in a Traditional Japanese room and really enjoyed the change of pace. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were plentiful, fresh, well prepared and beautiful! I used the hot spring in the hotel and enjoyed it, too.
The town and the snow monkeys are not to be missed. The Shibu Hotel is a great place to make your home base as you explore the area.
