This is the best place I have been to in Japan.

This is the best place I have been to in Japan. The welcome is very warm with a cup of green tea. Not all the staff speaks english, but they always get someone who can translate for you and they are very very nice. The place is a little bit outside the town, but they provide a shuttle service and on the other side it is close to the Hida folk village, one of the major sights around Takayama. If you don't like public bathing, try to get a room with separate shower.

Konya, Tamatsukuri Onsen -- Newly added ryokan introduction

top_2.jpg

Feel and experience the traditional life style of Japan. Our hotel has been around for 300 years to provide accommodations to travelers. We welcome you to this sacred land and hot springs. Our hotel used to be a place to do aizome (indigo dyeing) during the Kyoho years of Edo era and also a place to offer accommodations to visitors who seek to treat their illness in the hot springs of Tamatsukuri Onsen. Izumo is a birthplace of ancient Japanese tales. Our hotel, Konya, is situated in the beautiful green area of Tamatsukuri Onsen, which is known as the sacred springs of the Japan gods. Izumo is in the eastern part of Shimane Prefecture. Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, the Japan's oldest shrine is about 50 - 60 minutes away by car from our ryokan.

I would recommend it to any friends wanting an authentic experience of traditional Japan.

japanese_dinner.jpgWonderful atmosphere, great views and comfortable rooms. I would recommend it to any friends wanting an authentic experience of traditional Japan. Security is great, I felt safe at all times and the place was easy to find. Torii was my favorite attraction. It would be nice to have an English menu if at all possible, but the food and service was fantastic none the less. Would come again:)

Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much. All members of staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. This especially helped as my Japanese isn't that good. Thank you very much! I will remember the hotel in mind for future stay in Japan.
