The owner drove us directly to the Jigokudani Monkey Park.

The proprietor’s friendliness and hospitality more than makes up for the somewhat dated facility (its heyday was likely in 1975.) The owner drove us directly to the Jigokudani Monkey Park (the main local attraction), cooked us a fantastic traditional Japanese breakfast, and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable — even serving us sake shots in the hotel’s own “onsen” hot spring! We had a great stay.
